College History

John Butler Primary College opened its doors for the first time on 3 February 2014 as an Independent Public School with 375 students and 47 staff members, and grew to approximately 550 students in the first year.

The college was established to cater for the significant growth in population in two of the most northern suburbs of Perth – Butler and Alkimos – and is the third government primary school developed in Butler.

John Butler Primary College currently has an enrolment of over 474 students. The college population predominantly reflects Australian citizens and a large migrant population from Great Britain; however, over 22 different nationalities are represented.

We have six classroom teaching blocks, all of which are air-conditioned. Every classroom has an interactive whiteboard and access to ICT connectivity. We offer specialist programs in Health and Physical Education, ICT and Science.

The college continues to evolve as it responds to the growing needs and aspirations of this burgeoning community.
